Born in Konya in 1961, the artist graduated from Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Advanced Painting in 1985. He has held 12 solo exhibitions and received four awards of excellence and one honorable mention. With numerous works in private and public museums and collections, the artist has participated in over 200 group exhibitions, fairs, symposiums, and other artistic events. He has served as a jury member in various painting competitions. From 1996 to 2013, he worked as an Instructor in the Department of Fine Arts Education, Painting Division at Marmara University, Atatürk Faculty of Education. Currently, he is an Instructor in the Department of Plastic Arts at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts. In his work, the artist aims to reveal both the image and the conceptual changes in perception, approaching the image he treats as a visual text with a kind of self-analysis. The conventional subjects in his works, which are familiar and accepted iconographies to the viewer, allow for artistic inquiry, self-examination by the viewer, and examination of artistic taboos. His works are fundamentally based on an act of "analysis-synthesis" and a process of "deconstruction-reconstruction."
