Deniz Ova

Deni Ova is the director of the Istanbul Design Biennial, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) since 2013. Deniz Ova, who undertook the management of İKSV's international projects in 2007, carried out the programming and organization of the festivals organized by the foundation in European cities, and was the director of the International Projects department between 2010-2013. Besides festivals, Venice Biennale International Art, she was the coordinator of the Turkish Pavilion in her exhibitions and the Cité Internationale des Arts Turkey Residency Program, and in 2016 she took on the management of the Turkish participation in the London Design Biennial. Since 2014, she has been the consultant of the Pavilion of Turkey at the Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition and serves as a jury member of the “Turkey” Artist Residency Program. In 2009, after İKSV General Manager Görgün Taner was nominated for Amsterdam City Council Art Consultant, she prepared a report together with Görgün Taner and academician Deniz Ünsal evaluating the culture and art scene of Amsterdam. Deniz Ova, a graduate of Stuttgart University, Department of Politics and Linguistics, is also a participant in the "Turkey Europe Forum" project of Stiftung Mercator Initiative and the Salzburg Global Seminar.
