Course Objectives: 
The goal of this course is to equip students with the knowledge of structures, types and production techniques of knitted textiles, to encourage them on using knitted textiles in their designs.
Course Content: 

The fundamentals of knitting, types of knitting, weft knitting and warp knitting, definition of the loop, tools and machinery used in warp knitting, tools and machinery used in weft knitting, techniques of obtaining patterns in warp knitting, techniques of obtaining patterns in weft knitting.

Course Methodology:

2 What is knitting? What are the fundamentals of knitting? What are the types of knitting? In what kind of groups are knitted textiles investigated? PREPARATION
3 Fundamentals of weft knitting and basic systems of movements. PREPARATION
4 Loop, needles used in weft knitting machinery. PREPARATION
5 Obtaining patterns in weft knitting: jacquard knit, loop, crossover, loop transfer. PREPARATION
6 Obtaining patterns in weft knitting: angel wings, ajour, adding or subtracting loops. PREPARATION
7 Tools and machinery used in weft knitting: Creel, thread control mechanisms, knife, elongation and filter, thread reserve, thread break off control, bobbin case, needle plates, locking mechanisms etc. PREPARATION
