Course Objectives:
The aim of the class; is to give students a general point of view about exhibition techniques starting from the 17th century coming to the present day. Especially, by the help of examples from 20th century biennials, the secondary aim is to explore the effects of Modernism and Postmodernism on the exhibition sites and evaluate the evolution that these sites go through over time. In addition there will be discussions about; development of the exhibition concept, approach to the exhibition site, the placement of the object to the exhibition site, in light of the previously given information.
Course Content:
In order to support this learning process, the students will be asked to visit an ongoing exhibition and conduct a project focused on the exhibition site. After all, students will be capable of discerning the positive aspects as well as the mistakes in a given exhibition site and will be able to share their experiences in class with their peers.
