Course Objectives:
This course focuses on a relecture of contemporary art towards theory and history of aesthetics that develop a synthesis of different approaches to extract a singular discourse. Thus not only increase the curiosity of students to philosophical and aesthetic theories but also analyze tendencies, attitudes and politics of actual and contemporary art in Turkey and in the World.
Course Content:
First step springs from the journey of autonomy/emancipation of art, from artisanat towards philosophy of aesthetics, survey 20th century’s artistic movements. Then through transversal lectures it aims to establish a multidisciplinary discourse and debate the possibilities of ethical and political aesthetics.
