Course Objectives: 
It is aimed to pave the way for the student to develop a unique language of painting and to strengthen her creative thinking ability with different disciplines and to prepare a basis for the formation of a unique artistic expression language.
Course Content: 

To provide research, discussion and experience of Cubism, Fauvism, Op Art and Action Art, one of the avant-garde art movements that guided the 20th century Painting Art. Contribution of the experiences gained to the creation of an original artistic expression and the application of the versatile thinking skills of the art movements in different disciplines on the student.

Course Flow

 

COURSE CONTENT
Week Topics  
1 Giving the course contents to the students in the fall semester.

Transferring cubism to students for 4 weeks, giving students the necessary information to do the necessary research next week. Determining the necessary materials for the next week for the relevant subject.

 
2 Evaluating the sketches on Cubism and continuing the sketches in the workshop.  
3 Checking the sketches min. Choosing two of the 10 sketches and starting the application-realization with a minimum edge of 100 cm.  
4 Continuing the realization work. Evaluating the studies on the subject of cubism. Discussing the fauvism movement as a new topic. Sketching preparations for self-portrait work from each student related to the fauvism movement.  
5 Evaluation of the sketches created with the Favist approach. Self-portrait studies started. Two of the evaluated sketches are selected, min. Transition will be made to realization in 100cm sizes.  
6 Continuation of self-portraits that started to be produced with a favisian approach. Making necessary interventions.  
7 Continuation of self-portraits that started to be produced with a favisian approach.  
8 MID-TERM EXAM: (Evaluation of a total of 4 studies on Favist Self-Portrait and Synthetic Cubism)

9 Continuation of sketches on Op Art movement.

And over the two selected sketches min. Beginning of transition to realization in 100 cm dimensions.

 
10 Continuation of the application produced with the Op Art approach. Making necessary interventions.  
11 Making the final checks of the works produced and continuing the studies. Determination and discussion of Action Painting as a new topic. Providing necessary materials for the next week.  
12 Action Painting - Transition to experimental practice.

(2 works in total with min: 150cm)

 
13 Continuing the Practice.  
14 Final Exam Evaluation: (Evaluation of 4 works produced from Op Art and Action Art understanding)

MATERIAL SHARING
Documents Collage materials, paper, newspaper, glue ... etc.

- Canvases prepared in different sizes, floors suitable for painting, a sketch book (a notebook in A4 size, which can be made of any kind of unlined paper)

-Oil paints in different colors, auxiliary materials, acrylic paints

-Synthetic- sable oil barrels

-Trowel for mixing paint

-Pallet made of water contra at least 50 x 35 in size,

Thinner synthetic turpentine (no thinner-based materials), poppy or linseed oil, glass jars.

-A large amount of rags for cleaning.

8 pieces min 100 cm (Canvas - Cardboard - Mdf ... etc)

Assignments At least 40 sketches must be prepared during the period.
