Course Objectives: 
To introduce students to the history of graphic design and to comprehend the periods through examples.
Course Content: 

History of Graphic Design course covers the developments in graphic design from the 20th century to the present. Explain the effects of the development of graphic design on movements in art and culture. The effects of 20th century industrial revolution on visual communication, The Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau movements; The first half of the 20th century, the modernist era, Bauhaus and New Typography, modernist approaches in America; Typographic approaches in the information age and globalization process, The New York School, corporate identity and new visual communication systems; Postmodernism and graphic design, Digital Revolution and Beyond the 20th century to the present day by examining the important events in the field of design trends in the history of graphic design is taught basilica developments.
