Course Objectives: 
It is aimed to develop creative visual storytelling and technical application skills by teaching illustration techniques to students and showing successful national and international illustration examples.
Course Content: 

In this course, students will be able to creatively visualize the given topics by using the illustration techniques taught. After the sketch evaluation, they go back to the original and get acquainted with materials (such as paper, paint, computer, collage, etc.) and techniques.

Course Flow

1 Introduction to illustration course, what is illustration, its importance in the field of graphic design, the relationship between illustration and art.  
2 Materials used in illustration, differences between illustration types, working with pencil technique  
3 Examination of the samples with watercolor technique and exercises.  
4 Make a sketch for a story and create one of the sketches with watercolors on a 35x50 cm surface.  
5 Differentiate known objects and work with watercolors.  
6 The given subject continues. Criticisms and solutions are presented.  
7 Make sketches with dry paint technique.  
8 To make sketches on the given subject, to finalize with dry paint  
9 Metamorphosis: to obtain a new result that will allow the conversion of two organic and inorganic objects.  
10 Metamorphosis continues. Criticisms and solutions are presented.

 

 
11 To obtain a different form by adding a line to any object.  
12 The previous topic is continued and each student is asked to find 10-20 new ideas.  
13 Explanation and case studies about magazine cover illustration. For a certain type of magazine, cover illustration is made with.  
14 Explanation and case studies about book cover illustration. Cover illustration for a novel.
