Course Objectives: 
The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic knowledge of vector computer programs for graphic design applications.
Course Content: 

In this course, students are tought to use Adobe Illustrator or equivalent vector design program for design purposes. Students will be able to master the computer program as a design tool, creating a workspace, basic vector drawing tools,panels,layers, path properties, visual insertion and masking, color palette, brushes and illustration tools, rulers and grid system, preparing page layout, typography placement, geometric shapes and panels to create forms and knives, ready to print or digital media by finishing the design and application in the right format is tought. It also provides informatiion about document formats and saving features so that they can work in sync with other programs. Students taking this course, graphic design, such as symbols, emblems, logos, suc as design, page layout creation, knife drawing, vector drawingin the basic sense, to gain ability to provide graphics to print or digital media.

1 Introduction to Adobe Illustrator software. Introducing the interface and examining sample designs. Preparation of printing and transfer of basic information about color.  
2 Alignment with basic geometric forms, color and composition studies. Use of ruler and measurement tools.  
3 Drawing tools create complex shapes. (Pathfinder panel)  
4 Studies with pen and brush tool. Converting pixel based documents to vector.  
5 Gradient painting tools and color palette management.  
6 Typographic studies. Use of text tools.  
7 Creating compositions with transformation and deformation properties.  
8 Mid-term exam (Practical exam in computer lab.)  
9 Creating and using brushes, textures and patterns.  
10 Working with effects.  
11 Creating a corporate identity sheet and preparing for printing.  
12 3D object drawings. Light, color and pattern settings.  
13 Packaging design. Drawing of expansions and preparations for printing.  
14 Preparing and saving the works according to the web design.
